What does an island girl do when the island she lives on is going to be
destroyed?
Well, if it’s Moana, you go on an ancient quest to save the island and the people on it.
When the Demigod Maui brings darkness to the island of Motunui, Moana is driven by an ancient quest to return the heart of Te Fiti and restore life to the island.

On the island they worship Te Fiti, who is the goddess that brought life to the ocean, the source of her power was a small green gemstone that has a spiral in the middle known as the heart.
The Heart gives her the power to create life and other islands, as it turns out the demigod Maui also wanted the power to give humanity the power of creation and steals the heart from Te Fiti. Maui uses a magical hook to steal the heart and sail away, but is confronted by a volcanic demon named Te Ka, and loses the heart to him causing Te Fiti to disintegrate.
