BELLAGIO CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN:
The Fountain is recognized as the GuinnessWorld Record holder for the largest chocolate fountain and is the world’s largest! It is located inside the Bellagio Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas, NV. The designer is an award winning pastry chef named Jean-Philippe Patisserie. There is a store where chocolate
can be purchased. Cakes, cookies, crepes, salads and sandwiches as well. This magnificent sculpture reaches from floor to ceiling, stands 27 feet tall and consists of more than 2,100 pounds of melted milk, dark, and white chocolate. The chocolate is pushed thru 500 feet pipes, 24 hours a day. The chocolate does not get changed and is designed to operate continuously for over a year without having to change or replace the chocolate. This was a very fun and interesting place to visit and we all enjoyed the trip.
The Ethel M. Chocolate factory tour is fascinating! We witnessed how chocolate is made while watching through the factory’s windows. As we walked through the self-guided viewing aisle and watched chocolatiers and machines make Chocolate, we were surprised to find that the chocolates are individually hand-packed and then put into boxes. The factory also makes pecan brittle, peanut butter and caramel, my favorites! We received a sample of chocolate after our tour was complete in the retail area. Delicious! We had a lot of fun browsing through the shop, looking at the souvenirs, and boxed chocolates. Next door is the Botanical Cactus Garden where we enjoyed meandering through the garden. There are 300 different types of cactus, half are cacti, and the rest are trees and shrubs. The collection is Nevada’s largest. There are 15,000 cubic yards of garden. It was a great tour and we enjoyed it very much!
