Although most people think sushi is a Japanese dish but it actually originated in China in the 2nd Century. It wasn’t introduced to Japan until the 7th Century. Circles found a delicious, easy to make sushi recipe that the whole family can enjoy.

2 cups rice

2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoons oil

2 nori sheets

2 tablespoons whole-egg mayonnaise

1 cucumber, cut into matchsticks

1 medium avocado, thinly sliced

grated carrots

salt-reduced soy sauce, optional

sushi maker

measuring cup

Step 1:

Prepare 2 cups of rice following

the instructions on the box.

Stir rice to break up any clumps.

Sprinkle sugar over rice.

Pour vinegar over rice while

stirring then let rice cool.

Prepare your filling

Lightly oil the inside of the

sushi maker and wet hands to

make it easier to handle the rice.

Pack ½ cup of rice into each side of

the sushi maker and create a groove

for your filling.

Spread mayonnaise in each

Step 9: Place filling in rice and close sushi maker.

Step 10: Place nori sheet shiny side down with the longest edge closest to you.




Step 11:Dispense roll onto the nori sheet.




Step 13: Repeat with remaining rice and fillings. Let rolls chill before slicing.
