Issue #14 – recipe: Awwe Snap pulled pork

Tired of coming home and trying to figure out what is for dinner or tired of getting take out all the time? If you answered yes to any of theses questions then here is the recipe you’ve been waiting for. You just get all the ingredients together the night before place them in to a crockpot in the morning. Set the crockpot on low while you are away at work, dinner is cooking. When you get home just sherd and AWW SNAP you have dinner

 Ingredients 2 cups canned tomato sauce 1 cup ketchup 4 tablespoons, plus 4 teaspoons cider vinegar 4 tablespoons, plus 4 teaspoons lightly packed brown sugar 4 teaspoons garlic powder 24 ounces raw, lean boneless pork tenderloin, trimmed of excess fat 24 ounces raw, boneless pork shoulder (the leanest piece you can find), trimmed of excess fat Salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 cups roughly chopped onion Crushed red pepper Light sandwich buns and rinsed deli cole slaw

Equipment:

Measuring cups and spoons

Cutting board

Large bowl

Large spoon

Serving fork

Crock pot

Step 1 Combine tomato sauce and ketchup into crock potStep1-1

Step 2 Mix in cider vinegar and brown sugar into crock potStep-2-1

 

Step 3 Add the garlic powder to the sauce in crock potStep-3

 

Step 4  Stir Until well mixedStep-4

 

Step 5 Season both types of meat with salt and pepper and add to crock potStep-5-1

Step 6 Top with onion and lightly stirStep-6-1

Step 7 Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or cook on low for 7 to 8 hoursStep-7

 

Step 8 Remove all pork and place into a large bowlStep-8

Step 9 Shred each piece with two forks; one to hold the pork and one to shredStep-9

Step 10 Return the pork to crock pot and mix wellStep-10

 

 Step 11 Make into sandwiches, top with cole slaw, eat and enjoyStep-11-1
