The internet and social media sites have made it easier for people to stay in touch with friends and family. They could be across town or across the country but with the internet they are a keyboard away. The internet can also be a great way to make new friends and meet new people. But there can be a dark to social media. Circles Magazine wants you to have a safe experience on the internet by sharing some dos and don’ts of internet safety.

 DO:

Watch what you say. It is easy for people to misunderstand your meaning when you are not face to face with them.

DON’T:

Meet up with you have met on the internet by yourself, take another friend along.

DO:

Make sure you know a person before you accept a friend request.

DON’T:

Give out your address, phone number, or where you work.

DO:

Block unwanted users.

DON’T:

Give your password to anyone.

DO:

Be very cautious about the photos you put on the internet.

DON’T:

Give out your email to people you don’t know
