People are obsessed by food. Sometimes it’s

eating too much or eating too little. Sometimes

it’s about craving chocolate or craving salty

snacks. Food is everywhere and we are always

thinking about it. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that

food is a popular subject in a lot of music from children’s songs to music by some

of the most popular bands of all time.

Kiddie Classics                        

Music is a fun way to teach kids, and children’s songs are filled with food. There are songs to teach kids about fruits and vegetables and songs to teach them about eating right and exercising. A lot of the songs are just for fun. Everyone knows “Pat-a-cake Pat-a-cake”, “Short’nin Bread”, and “Hot Cross Buns”. Then there’s “On Top of Spaghetti”, “Muffin Man”, and “Animal Crackers”. No matter what is on the menu, kids have been entertained by songs about food for a long time.

The Rolling Stones are cooking with “Brown Sugar” and Van Halen has got desert covered with “Ice Cream Man”. You can try listening to some of these tasty tunes to satisfy your cravings, but chances are you will be left hungry for more.
