Issue #4 – recipe: Trail Mix Sandwich

 

Are you tired of weighing your bags downfinished recipe
with extra food while on the trail or traveling?
We have a solution! These sandwiches are
quick to make, easy to take, and something
to excite your mouth while on the trail.

Always wash your hands before handling any food.

Ingredients and Equipment:
(makes 4 sandwiches)
1, 8oz package cream cheese, room
temperature
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
1 carrot, peeled and gratedingredients
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup trail mix
8 slices of bread
Mixing bowl
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Large mixing
spoon
Butter Knife

Hint:
Save extra sandwiches in Ziplock bags
and place in the refrigerator to retain
their freshness For a sweeter taste use a trail mix that includes dried fruit.

 

Step 1:step 1 b-grate carrotstep 1 a-peel carrot
Peel and grate
1 whole carrot.

 

 

 

Step 2:step 2 grate lemon
Grate lemon peel

 

 

 

Step 3:step 3-cream cheese in bowl
Place 1, 8oz package of
cream cheese into a bowl.

 

 

Step 4:
Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon
finely grated lemon peel, 1/2 cup raisins
and 1 cup grated carrots.

step 4 c-add raisins

step 4 d-add carrots

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5:Add 1/3 cup trail mix andstep 5- stirstep 4 e-add trail mix stir all ingredients together
in a bowl until it’s soft and spreadable.

 

 

 

Step 6:
Spread onto bread and coverstep 6-spread on bread with other piece of bread to make a sandwich.
