Issue #4 – recipe: No-Bake Chewy Granola Bars

Here’s a healthy snack that’s fun to make and easy to take anywhere Sonia shows  ou how to create the perfect travel food for your next vacation.

 

Ingredients and Equipment:

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick)

unsalted butter

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

2 cups granola

1 cup crisp rice cereal

1/2 cup thin pretzel sticks

1/2 cup raisins

1/2 cup semisweet

chocolate chips

Microwave safe bowl

Mixing bowl

Measuring cups

Measuring spoons

Large spoon

9×13 inch baking pan

Slicer or knife

Always wash your hands before handling any food.wash hands

Step 1:

Pour 2 cups of granola, 1 cup of rice cereal, 1/2

cup of raisins and 1/2 cup of thin pretzel sticks into a mixing bowl

Step 2:

In a microwave safe bowl, pour 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup

of honey and 1/2 stick of butter.

Step 3:

Place sugar, honey and butter into a microwave for 2 minutes

 

 

 

Step 4:

Stir. If not melted, return to microwaver 30 seconds.
