Using paper and plastic makes outdoor

parties easy and less expensive, but that

doesn’t mean it can’t also be fun and

fancy. Choose items that go together in

color and style. Add little bits of bright,

warm colors like orange and yellow,

against cooler colors like blue and green.

Colored plates and napkins are more fun

than plain white, and even plastic cups

don’t have to be boring. Find interesting

dishes for food and drink at local dollar

or thrift stores, and make sure you have

enough for all your guests. Table covers

are a great way to hide furniture that

has faded in the heat of the desert sun.

Throw pillows dress up outdoor chairs

and benches to make them cozy and

comfortable.
